To get rid of that smell microwave a bowl filled with water and 2 - 4 teaspoons of lemon juice (or half a lemon) for about 7 minutes. Let it sit for 5 - 10 minutes (this helps the steam deodorize and loosen stuck on food.) I find that it does nothing for the stains and discoloration, but the food and weird smells go away.
