emotionally it doesn't sound like it, he sounds like an emotional 16 year old which is just pathetic. how can you expect him to ever make something of himself if you just keep enabling him to be this manchild? do you want to have a 40year old son with a part time job as a janitor living in your basement, single, with no family of his own?? that should make you so proud as a mother, not. sooner or later he will start to resent you for this, and that could be something he's already feeling and it's just manifesting as rebellion.
