Today, I found out that I have been declared dead by my credit card company in England because I haven't used it since I moved to Thailand last year. I will need three witnesses to convince them that I'm actually alive. FML

Similar thing happened to my grandfather, he found his own obituary in the newspaper. His response was to walk half a mile to our house through the cow pasture, since apparently this was too good to be told over the phone, and walk up in our yard waving his cane and yelling "somebody's jumped the gun! Ain't dead yet!".

This is a fake! Credit Card companies do not cancel credit cards if they are not used for over a year! Why not? Because they charge an annual fee to even have a credit card. YDI for not knowing anything about finances.

The FML is that they can't use their card, because they- according to the credit card company- are dead. Not that the card was canceled.

Please tell me how can a credit cArd declaire someone dead? Usually they close the account due to inactivity. Unless you still have a balance

thing is, my mom died in august. in order to cancel her cards... we had to send them a death certificate... so really?

Yeah, pretty much. If someone "just looked at you and said "hey sorry but you're dead"" why would you care? It's super petty and immature to get upset at it, especially if it really didn't matter at all.
