i'm not paid enough for this shit (and piss)

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - Australia

Today, I was informed by my manager at work that there had been an "accident" in the playground. I then had to crawl through tunnels designed for 5 year-olds, to a tiny playroom with no fresh air, and clean up a stupid kid's pee and crap. FML

You work at a job where your boss can make you crawl through hamster tubes to clean up shit and piss, and you are calling the kid "stupid?" Your career doesn't sound like one dominated by geniuses.

this is what u get for working at mcdonalds

Oooh that sucks!! FYL. Was it an outdoor playground? What's the weather like in Australia now, anyway? This is a triple FYL if you had to do this in hot weather.

Stupid? No, it's called being a 5 year old. Children can't always control their bodies. If you don't want to work with children and deal with the natural consequences of their actions, then you honestly need to quit your job right now. The kids will be better off without you.

Ok, honestly, at five years old kids should be able to control themselves. I mean, they are old enough to understand when they 'gotta go', and they can speak normally to tell a caretaker to help them go to the bathroom. Alright, if it's three and under, it's a different matter. They can't control themselves at all. But five.....! So stop being so harsh at the OP. They were annoyed to have to crawl through one of those tubes to clean up poop and pee in Australia. :P

I'd be more inclined to call the parent stupid. If my five-year-old had an accident in a public place, I'd be embarrassed to leave the place in that condition. I'd apologize, explain that these things happen, and ask for something to clean it up with. At the very least, I would clean up as much of it as I could and then advise them to disinfect it. But I wouldn't expect the employees of a restaurant or play area to clean up my child's human waste. It's not a hospital room. I'm always amazed by people who let their kids make messes in public and then say, "Meh... that's what the employees are paid for." Great example to set. A friend of mine (elementary teacher) was at Disneyworld in Florida once. She witnessed two boys finish their lunches and drop the containers on the ground about two feet from a garbage receptacle. Their father seemed to think this was fine, because he watched them do it and said nothing. She said in her sweetest, most positive teacher voice, "Hi there, guys. You know... the garbage bin is right over there. Maybe you could drop your garbage in there." The father started hollering at her to mind her own business, called her every name in the book, and ranted that the employees are paid to clean up everyone's garbage, that they were on vacation and that she should keep her mouth shut. He got so worked up that a mediator was called in to resolve the apparent "disupute" (i.e. her politely pointing out the trash bins and the man going off half-cocked as though she had picked them up and spanked them). Moron parents who think their kids can do no wrong, and teach their children to leave their messes for others to clean up. I am a teacher in a high school, and when I'm on lunch duty, it always amazes me that students will ignore the bins placed conveniently at the end of every table, and either leave their trash on the table or throw it on the floor. No wonder, though, with the example the parents set from the time they are small.

ermm unless you are a janitor or specifically a cleaning person, i'm pretty sure you can refuse to clean it on the grounds that it is a biohazard and you are not trained to do so and not get fired for it (by pretty sure i mean you absolutely can in the states and canada, not sure about aus). There is no ******* way I would clean up someone elses shit. If they threaten to fire you and you don't want to sue, have some dignity and get a new job.

i always hated playground like that cause they always smelled funky.
