Independance day

Today, a crying kid was brought to my attention by a customer. He was so upset from losing his mom that he couldn't say his or his mom's name. I took him around the store asking him to point out his mom. Once we'd found her she told me, "I was hiding from my kid to test his independence." FML

How old was,he? There's other ways to test independence.

I'm 17 and I still panic when I can't find my parents at the supermarket

That's so cruel I wonder how old the poor kid was. Top job for helping him though OP you must be a nice person. :)

Holy Christ that is just cruel as hell. I would have freaked out so hard if I was that kid.

Yes, yes, **** your life. Your life absolutely SUCKS because you helped out a child with a questionable mother.

Years ago I worked at a Kmart and this woman didn't watch her toddler at all. She kept wandering an isle or two over and getting upset. The bitch would roll her eyes and do her best to ignore her. Like 20 minutes later I find the poor baby girl wandering around mom no where to be found. I scooped up the little girl and as I was about to call LP her grandpa shows up. It seemed to me that this was a regular thing because when he took her I've never seen such disgusted contempt in a mans face before or since.

How old was the kid in the first place? It would be worry some if he were younger than 10
