Today, I was talking to my tattoo artist about how my girlfriend broke up with me. She had also gotten her tattoos from him, so they had talked quite a bit. He told me she had been cheating on me with her ex for two and a half months. He didn't tell me because he didn't want to lose business. FML

Agreed. I assume the tattoo artist didn't want to lose the girlfriend's business, since OP probably would've been too grateful to go elsewhere. Now he's risked losing OP's business instead. If the artist felt that badly about it, he could've found a way to tell OP anonymously, or just asked him to keep quiet about how he found out. If he didn't feel bad, he should've STFU. It sucks to find out you're the last to know.

that really sucks, but how much can you expect him to tell you? i mean its not like its someone all that close to you, unless you have like 30 tattoos and see him often

FYL, but honestly, it wasn't your tattoo artist's place to get involved in your personal relationship. If he was more your friend than tattoo artist then /maybe/ but as he is your tattoo artist first, sorry to say, he want to earn a living. FHL for unintentionally getting in the middle of a screwed up relationship.
