Today, my bank card was skimmed (copied electronically) and my account was totally cleaned out. I had only just got paid and don't get paid again for 4 weeks. The bank says it will take 21 days minimum to resolve. They offered me a credit card with a huge interest rate to help me get by. FML

That is why pin coded cards are necessary...

LOL at #7. But OP, that really sucks..

that blows. look on the bright side, at least you were smart enough to figure out the credit card. lots of people would be like "gee, thanks!" and proceed to spend way to much and get double-screwed. good luck to you man.

That sounds kinda like a skam to me. wonder how many other people get that. and its all good for the bank, they get the contents of you bank account plus interest with the credit card

Actually, there is a regulation called "Regulation E" that says the banks must give you provisional credit no later than 10 days (sooner in certain cases) if you claim the charges were fraudulent. They are just trying to get around it in your case...holler "Regulation E" and it might help.

Banks suck...you should be with a credit union, they would have got it done much faster and not make you take a stupid credit card.... FYL for banking with a bank

FYL for being with a bank.... you SHOULD be with a credit union...they would have given it back a lot sooner... skimming can happen to anyone anywhere... the only way to not have it happen is to only do transactions with cash, other then that EVERYONE is at risk. it doesnt matter how much you check a machine or cover your pin it can happen. i work at a credit union and have seen these things first hand so again FYL for being with the bank...
