It's all too much

Today, I failed my driving test, and didn't get my great new job that a buddy helped me get. He got fired, and they won't hire me because he recommended me, regardless of how qualified for the job and how great the interview went. He called to tell me an hour before my driving test. FML

I can’t say much about the test, but your friend getting fired shouldn’t have any effect on you getting the job or not, especially if the interview went as well as you said.

Getting a job is often more who you know than what you know. This is both good and bad, if your contact is well liked and respected it will help you get a job, if your contact is the guy barely hanging on by a thread then it will severely hamper your ability to get a job.

Some people seek revenge for friends. A few idiots cause these reactions.

Remember 80% of managers are unqualified for their job. So it's no wonder that people end up getting hired or not hired for stupid reasons.
