Why I certainly sympathize with your situation how can you expect to keep your job if you can't see properly. Hopefully you can get on disability.
I know there are laws against this, apply for disability and against your employer. Workman's Compensation has lawyers. Good luck I had a stroke in 1999, I couldn't work for about six months. This is why I believe in unions
