Yeah that fetish actually doesn't usually ever have sexual connotations. So... did you break up just because he asked for it? Or because he wouldn't take no for an answer? Just asking doesn't seem like a break-uppable offense, because lets be honest, no one is 100% compatible and it's okay to not want to engage in something that the other person has an interest in. I hope you at least had a conversation with him and attempted a compromise (maybe days where you 'spoil' him by taking care of him, making him his favourite meals, cuddling time etc) rather than just kicking him to the curb for being comfortable enough to bring this up to you.
When something seems too good to be true... Of course, you throwing a temper tantrum over this probably turned him on intensely.
