My Dad does this constantly, like decades. Have learnt to be super careful while getting in the car as he may drive off with me (or anybody who is supposed to get in the car) halfway in, or leave me like OP was left. I usually scream like a banshee, helps. He isn't doing this to be mean, just not paying attention. (My Dad is 75, I'm 50)
This just doesn't sound right. How much stuff did you have the required you to go to the other side of the car to get in? Why didn't you start yelling when the dad was driving off? Did you not have a phone? How didn't the dad notice you weren't in the back of the car? How do you get lost walking up a hill? Why didn't your friend notice you weren't in the car? Just seems all a bit to unlucky.
wtf? your friend just sat there and didn't say anything?
Keywords
How does the friend not say anything? And why did you start walking off instead of staying in the same place. Once they realize that you're gone I'm sure they would go back to the carnival.
