Lies

Today, at work, as a camp counselor, I was discussing how stupid the idea of Santa is to a coworker, and how every parent should tell their kids the truthLies. The intercom microphone was on. I single-handedly told a group of 100 six year-olds that Santa isn't real. FML

Well that's what you wanted didn't you?

Well, they know the truth now, just like you thought they should...

Santa takes christmas away from Jesus Kids don' celebrate christmas for Jesus like they should (unless they don't celebrate christmas at all). Christmas should be remembered as the birthday of Christ.

Lol, Jesus was born in the springtime. you "christians" stole the holiday from Pagens, like you did Easter

Funny, my parents let us believe in Santa until we naturally outgrew it. We were around 9-10 years old. There was no feeling of betrayal, no sense we were lied to. I'm grateful to them for letting us have a childhood where there were mysteries and magic. We've told all 3 of our kids about Santa. The oldest outgrew it much the same as I did, and the middle one is just getting to where he's catching on. If you don't want to hold that particular tradition, don't. Why do you have to vilify parents trying to give their kids some magic?

WOAH WOAH WOAH....what? he's not real?? What about the tooth fairy? And the Easter bunny? My whole life has been a lie!

At least they figured it out early. There's a 11 to 12 year old at my school who believes in Santa

Never say that when kids are around.

Whilst I agree with OP, she should have made sure that the microphone wasn't turned on.
