So you knew you would be late multiple times by hitting a Starbucks drive thru, which anyone with 1/2 a brain cell knows, is long as hell in the mornings, and you expect sympathy from people for being fired? Most people with 1/2 a brain cell would skip the Starbucks all together or leave earlier for work, to arrive at work on time. YDI
When you're a part of a team and you can't be ****** to show up, you put added stress and work on your coworkers. If you feel you need to waste money on Starbucks every day, leave early enough to do it
should've just arrived on time and done your job. ydi.
I think you are using "walk of shame" wrong. You should be ashamed of being late for work because you are sucked into the Starbucks cult. You could have gotten a similar coffee elsewhere in less time for less money. Your boss could only assume that you'd waste company resources as stupidly. And look up "walk of shame" in the Urban Dictionary. It helps. I once thought a good name for a pumpkin-shaped blimp would be Blumpkin. Then, I got steered to the UD.
"Today, I did my routinely visit to Starbucks in the morning that always results in me being 20 minutes late for work. My boss decided he had enough of this and promptly fired me. FML" I just want to know what you were expecting out of this? Just because your boss didn't say anything about it, it doesn't mean that it's not affecting your employment status.
That was one expensive iced coffee. On top of its usual price it also cost you your job. I'd offer my sympathies but you're a jobless bum who probably can't even afford a pack of gum. So instead I'll offer a YDI. That's gratis.
Literally the textbook example of "screwed around and found out."
