Well, for your next visit you could bring some earplugs with you? xP I mean, as long as the dentist knows what they're doing it's fine, but if the music/sudden gunshut noises might make you jump up while he has tools in your mouth - that might not be too good.

I think that some people are actually getting turned off by relaxing music because it reminds them of going to the dentist. But complete silence is better than anything with gunshots and sudden loud noises when I'm already nervous. My dentist has a chair that gives a back massage. Really works. Not.

It's ok, when I went in to get work done my dentist was playing "Pain" by Three Days Grace

I would much prefer rap to the crummy music that's usually in the dentist office
