sounds like you're an asshole, then. all of you people saying OP deserved it, or that it's just part of the job or whatnot disgust me. the customer has just as much responsibility to be decent to the server. it's customer service, not slavery. try to think of one thing you've done today that didn't involve any customer service at any point (e.g. going to the store to buy the groceries you're eating or the clothes you're wearing, or calling your ISP to set up the internet you're using). these people bend over backwards for you assholes on a daily basis, the least you could do is treat them with a modicum of human decency.

I realize you're probably joking, but that's a poor excuse. Included tips are clearly marked on the bill, and sometimes if you split up the check, they can't add a service charge no matter what the size of the table is.
