well, a) you got almost no friends, and b) enjoy the ice cream....
loser
Why should the fact that he doesn't speak English have anything to do with him being able to see no one showed up? So what if he calls it 'un perdidor'?
Awwww... that's sooo sad... i would of came!
Total YDI Firstly you implied that "non-English" speaking people cannot understand a thing by your little judgemental comment. Secondly you do NOT put yourself out there if you have no friends. You don't try to commit to friendships. So YDI
Everyone is calling this person racist. All they said was that the non-english speaking waiters understood ... hello maybe they really didn't speak english. Sadly, you don't need to speak any language to recognize a loser. But Your "best freind" who planned it... was the failure. Shitty friend to put you in that situation.
It reminds me of my 13th birthday party when I invited all these girls from my school to come on over to my house for a huge party. I didn't understand why no was talking to me though about it but blew it off. The day of my birthday party, everyone stood me including my ex-bestfriend who claimed to be in Kentucky at the time (it turned out that she got an invite from a girl in her dance class to come to her house and decided to go.) The only one who did show up was my neighbor who is 3 years younger then me and her little sister. Apparently there was a rumor going around that I killed someone. I didn't learn about it till later and then realized that people were avoiding me for the past two months. Everyone including my parents and neighbor forgot my 16 birthday.
What made them think you had killed someone?

Your friends suck. That, in my opinion, is the FML. But, I don't know how you got the impression that "non-english speaking waiters knew" you were a loser. Did they come right out and tell you so? Or is it because they brought you free ice cream? A lot of restaurants give you a free dessert when it's your birthday, so that is probably why they gave you ice cream. You shouldn't think of it as a pity-treat. You need to build new friendships and re-build your self-esteem, because automatically assuming the waiters are thinking the worse kinda says you're not comfortable with yourself.
Awww... I'm sorry. Make new friends! I would have gone (I love Mexican food)!! :D
