Lost in translation

Today, I was once again handed a document to translate, along with the comment, "Good luck, it doesn't make sense to begin with." If my translation doesn't, though, I won't get paid. FML

Fake it, if it makes sense according to the situation, you may be able to pull it off

Do people know that you can't translate an entire document with google translate? I'm hoping those suggestions are all JK....

It's true that you can't directly translate a whole document using Google Translate, but it can be very helpful. I produced a translation for a 300 page technical textbook on a subject I barely know, and I couldn't have done it without Google. And my work was considered good enough to publish and sell...

Oh God, I hope it wasn't medical technology!

It really depends on the language pair. French/English? Good enough to get the gist of what's going on. Japanese/English? Gibberish.

Perhaps you can contact the individual that wrote the document and ask them to help you clarify it? Hope that's helpful.

If OP is a contractor, which it sounds like, it would be a breach to contact the author directly.

Just make up a bizarre story and maybe they will believe it!

For a second, I thought you were making some sort of Taken reference.

Just translate it and make it make sense afterwords.::

If you really can't make sense of his, just write down the lyrics of "99 Luftballoons." That'll work!

Sounds to me like someone is ******* with you - "let's write gibberish to screw with the translator!" FYL.

You could just make up a story about magical unicorns defeating gremlins and all will end well.
