Make it stop

Today, I arrived at the beach for a week's vacation. I walk on the beach only to find they are "rebuilding" it. They have heavy machinery all over the place, they work 24/7, and this only happens every 15 years. Glad I picked this week. FML

The hard hat that you'll have to wear while tanning will really serve well for picking up members of the opposite sex.

It seems odd that they would do doing serious work on a beach in the summertime. Usually things like that are arranged for the off season. But like everyone else has already said, drive a few miles and find a different stretch of beach. No huge loss.

Years ago, I booked a stay at the "Fountain Blue, Hilton" in Miami Beach. That's directly on the beach line, and it wasn't cheap! Believe me, when making reservations, NO ONE will tell you the beach is closed, and why would you think to ask? Beach erosion is a problem here in Florida and I understand it needed to be fixed. I still had access to the beach further down but if I knew I had to walk sooooo far to get to it, I would have just booked another hotel. So, It does indeed suck for the OP!

Hey on the bright side; you don't have to worry about sun tanning. The construction workers will whistle at you no matter what you're wearing. Take this experience as a good thing!
