Maths is hard

Today, disappointed with my results on a mathematics test, I went over it and realized my teacher had added up the marks incorrectly, leaving me with 17% less than I earned. The person who's supposed to be teaching me math can't even perform basic arithmetic. FML

Did you talk with your teacher and get everything sorted out?

What do you think the probability of that was?

Same thing happened to me, but teacher wouldn't change it when I confronted him about it, because then it would appear as though he made a mistake. Get it sorted out if you can.

thats ironic LOL but at least you didnt get a bad grade

Just talk to him/her even math teachers are human!

You act like teachers aren't also humans who make mistakes. When I took college algebra, my professor accidently made a test have a total of 90 pts. instead of 100 because she made a simple addition error. Professors make errors, and that's normal. It's also good because it gives students a chance to notice the error, which is helpful to learning how to spot mistakes in your own arithmetic. So just politely tell your teacher you found an error, and they'll probably praise you for catching the error and fix your grade.

be careful how you go about it tho op. dont want to offend

I completely understand. It starts to make you wonder what else they've ****** up in the process

Good thing you went over it that's an easy correction

I got a 19% on a math test last yr and my teacher marked it 91% :x

Actually, and maybe I'm just lucky, I've found that most teachers I've had will let the mistake stand if it benefits the student. Of course that large of a mistake may be different.

wow this guy must be stupid to get a 19% oh god is this our future lol

#33, I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I'd feel too guilty to not say anything. If you don't earn the grade you probably shouldn't keep it... Maybe I'm just a fun sucker, I don't know. :P

Giving you a grand total of 17%. Nice strawman you're building there.
