if you don’t know the answer and can’t figure it out after a few minutes. move on and come back to it later
They taught us to do this in 3rd grade. Run into a hard question, answer all the non-hard ones and come back to it. Don't get fixated on solving it.
This is why I was always taught by my teachers that if you absolutely cannot work out the answer, skip that question for now, do the rest of the test, and loop back around at the end. There’s no point in getting the answer to one three-point question if it causes you to miss out on five one-point questions you knew the answer to.
