Mind your own business

By :(( - 30/05/2013 21:18 - Japan - Tokyo

Today, in a public restroom, an elderly lady started bitching me out for not washing my hands. I was so intimidated that I did so under her accusing watch. I'm quite intolerant to many soaps, and I now have a horrible rash on my left hand because I was too frightened to explain. FML

Why don't you carry your own soap with you? If you know you are allergic and also know how unhygienic it is to not wash, YDI for putting yourself in that position!

Have you tried at least washing your hands with water only? That is a safer and cleaner way to solve the problem.

YDI simply for being too cowardly to stand up for yourself. And as others have said there's no excuse to leave a bathroom with nasty hands. If you aren't willing to use hand sanitizer or a soap that's okay for your skin, then tell anyone who confronts you about your nasty hands to F off and just go on about your filthy business.

That elderly woman must be my mom. She is in Japan right now, and is a real clean freak.

I understand in Japanese culture you respect your elders. However, you can still be respectful without having to obey every command someone gives you that could harm you. She sounded like she was being rude to you. Maybe next time just smile and say "Thanks for the advice!" Then leave immediately.

In lots of Japan restrooms there isn't even any tissues much less soap. I would have told her to kiss my ass that I'm allergic to a lot of soap.

Perhaps you should join kendo dojo to build your character?

Gross! Bring your own soap and wash with that.

Being allergic to soap is not an excuse for not washing your hands. If you don't use the soap that's fine, but at least rinse your hands under water. And if you were that embarassed about it, why you wouldn't carry your own soap with you to avoid this exact situation is beyond me.

Either rinse with water(better than nothing) or bring your own soap. Stop being nasty.
