Misconstrued

By heyadrian - This FML is from back in 2014 but it's good stuff - United States - Gardena

Today, I went to a family reunion. I laughed at my uncle's Sylvester Stallone impression. Turns out he had a stroke a while back. FML
I agree, your life sucks 39 879
You deserved it 16 749

heyadrian tells us more.

OP here. we didn't know my uncle that well he was one of the family members that dropped off the face of the earth. I came in at the wrong time when people were laughing so I thought he was doing an impression this is both a FML and a YDI

That reminds me of the guy who thought his boss was doing a sylvester the cat impression..

I can help you solve this problem in 3 easy steps. 1) Place bag over head. 2) Crawl into dark corner. 3) Stay there forever.

well for future reference before anymore family functions it'd be a good idea to get an update on all relatives attending so no more embarrassing incidents

yes I'll be sure to let 1k of my family members know

It can be hard with big families. My mom and dad both had several brothers and sisters. They live all over the country, and, consequently, I have never even met half of my cousins and have only met two of my uncles once.

well my mom had bells palsy and I thought the same thing

Hopefully your uncle has a sense of humour. Perhaps saying something like "but you're better looking" would've helped save the moment. No?

If you never knew then it's not all your fault

its cool he told me that he is gonna be my boxing coach when he gets me boxing gear for either birthday or chirstmas

OP if it's your uncle why wouldn't you know what happened to him?!

Because not all families are close-knit. Not all live in the same town, or even the same state, and even those who do set up their own lives and only talk to each other at functions like these. It happens. I was recently floored to see my cousin, who I babysat when I was a teenager and he a toddler, now getting his driver's license. Time passes without even realizing it.

To #78 Is there an echo in here?!? Dude, you need to read the previous comments before you post exactly the same comment
