Today, I went to a family reunion. I laughed at my uncle's Sylvester Stallone impression. Turns out he had a stroke a while back. FML

OP here. we didn't know my uncle that well he was one of the family members that dropped off the face of the earth. I came in at the wrong time when people were laughing so I thought he was doing an impression this is both a FML and a YDI

If they were at a family reunion, odds are it's family they haven't seen in awhile, it's not surprising that they didn't know certain things about some of the members.

Well, most families do talk throughout the year, just get together once. Unfortunately it seems that OPs family either decided to not relay him/her the news or just forgot to mention it.

hey OP here. he forgave me and we laughed about it. he is a funny guy and he started doing Rocky quotes with it. I do feel sorry still for pointing it out but I'm also mad how no one told me about him having a stroke a year or so back

Now that I know the back story, it's clearly a FYL. You didn't know because your uncle isn't close to the family. And as other people were laughing, it's clear that you aren't the only one who didn't know what was going on. Glad your uncle is okay with it.
