Hey OP! As someone with a heavily tattooed doctor in my family here's some advice! For body: use clothes For face/neck/hands/any other body part that can't be covered: go to Sephora/ulta or another makeup store OR go online and search up: tattoo covering makeup. Dermablend and Kat Von D are both great brands/waterproof but a little expensive, NYX is also good, cheaper, but not as good. I know it might be embarrassing to wear makeup/clothes you don't like, but is it worth not going for your dream? I don't think so
I'm guessing you're talking about the military, because that's one of the only careers I can think of that actually has a ban on tattoos in certain areas. I used to work for a tattoo removal office. We frequently removed tattoos on people who wanted to get into the military, and would work with their recruiters, giving them paperwork to provide evidence of the removal process. Once a certain degree of fading was achieved, these clients would be able to enlist, as long as they continued the removal process. If we're not talking about the military, hiding the tattoos with clothes and makeup should be sufficient.
I think that's kind of a defeatest attitude. unless they're on your face I should think it would be ok.
I'm a respectable member of society with a normal job and have tattoos which I don't conceal at work. I'll be getting my lip pierced again as well as dying my hair blue after confirming with my boss that it isn't an issue. it's about the work place culture more than it being entirely prohibitive. working in an industry which is based on my knowledge, skills, and abilities, I'd never want to work somewhere which felt I shouldn't work there based off such a silly thing. of course offensive tattoos and excessive body modification would be different

Most jobs are ok with tattoos as long as they're easily hidden. Plus the number of employers who are against tattoos seems to be decreasing. So unless you have a face/neck tattoo, you should be fine.
What did you want to do? Do you have tattoos on your face? In most jobs, you could cover up most tattoos. I’ll need more details before I deface this comment section with unnecessary ink.
