Netflix is a drug

Today, my fiancé completely missed the birth of our first child because he had started watching a new series on Netflix and really wanted to know how it ended. By the time he made it to the hospital our daughter was already 7 hours old. FML

You sure you want to marry him? He seems to have his priorities a little mixed up.

If he can misses the birth of his own daughter, imagine what else he will miss down the road. Rethink before you marry him.

Ditch him now. It will only get worse

My bf was terribly ill while I was giving birth to our son. He was very upset he couldn't be there. I can't believe someone would purposely want to miss the birth of their child. How sad

Don't let yourself become crazy with all that dump-him-posts. He very likely is your fiancé and father of your child for a reason, and you probably know him well. I'm sorry that he was so self-centered and missed being at your side. I hope he has a good reason, like being scared as **** because he suddenly faced the upcoming change in his life or something the like. It's still terrible, but there gotta be a reason. I hope it will all turn out well for you and your family, and congratulations on your brand new baby!!

Netflix show, so he could watch it anywhere anytime... it's not like he would have missed it... just remember that even though you have a child together is no reason to stay together and people don't change unless they want to.

This makes me mad at humanity. But congratulations on your daughter!

Does he have ocd or another form of it? Or maybe something else wrong? Because I get messing things up, but not missing your child being born. I have to agree with some of the other suggestions and make sure he's the one you definitely want to marry because this is a red flag level of screwing up.

You should pay attention to the message there. Someone mrs. the birth of a child due to an unforeseen accident, not because they parked their butt in front of the idiot box to binge watch a new series. I think he spoke volumes about where he felt it was important for him to be!

Do you realistically want to raise a family with a man who prioritizes a TV show on Netflix over the birth of his own child?! I personally feel like this just shows how he's probably going to be as a parent and partner in the future, I definitely would run to the hills before you're in any deeper.
