In our American culture, we do not owe our parents a cushy life using our retirement funds. Congrats on the promotion and raise, I hope you get more. That said, do make sure you are saving for YOUR retirement. It is never too late to start, and unless you are independently wealthy, you will not hit the IRS maximum contribution to your 401K. so save as much as you possibly can. that way you Don't have to rely on the next generation.
