Similar thing happened to me. I was a temp, and had applied for the permanent position. I worked my ass off for 6 months while they gave me the runaround regarding the permanent position. Rather than telling me in the end I didn't get the position, they hired someone else behind my back. I show up to work not knowing I'm being let go, only to be told by a supervisor (not mine!! just a random sup from another office who was visiting) "oh did they not tell you...?" with a super awkward tone, and then she asks if I can train the new person. UGH. I feel ya, man. It ******* sucked.
you should of called the girl back and told her the position was no longer open.
I would have conveniently forgotten to pass on that particular message. Oops, must have slipped my mind!
LOL @ #16. I would have done the same thing... "Any messages?" "Nope. None." *fake polite smile*
I'd leave a note: "A nice lady called about taking my job. Classy."
i would of not cleaned her house take a shit in her bathtub and walkd out and if she has pets leave them in her room
tell anyone else who calls that the position has been filled.
Id prob tell her " Yes the positions open, Then tell her a ridiculous salary. I ono wat u can do to ur boss's house but do something to it.

That's one way to fire someone without dealing with the initial reaction... Get them to take your messages when you already know one of those messages will be from the replacement. xD Sorry to hear about your job though, srsly.
I had a similar experience to this. Found an ad for my nannying position... on the website that my employer had used to find ME in the first place. My resignation email began with a screen dump of the ad.
