I think because she was most likely pressured into a blind date by a friend, and didn't expect it to go well, not because of the person. That is just an assumption, though.

The main reason two people will start talking is because of a physical attraction. Upon getting to know someone their looks can become more appealing to you, or even less appealing depending on their character. While he was very rude in his answer, he was also very honest and didn't leave you waiting by your phone. Sorry OP :( I hope your next date is a better one! Chin up!
