My gr10 English class thought i had a boner, it turns out my belt was on extra tight and pushing the front of my pants outward to make it look like i had one. The school heard in 5mins and everyone in my next class knew. While flirting with a girl i crouched down because she was sitting so i can talk at a more eye level. When i got up an involuntary boner appeared (maybe while i was crouching) and i couldn't finish asking her out. I tried hiding it then walked away embarrassed and ashamed.

You can hide a boner, or at least stick your hand in your pocket and ask to go to the bathroom to take care of the situation. If you bleed all over your butt, you're screwed. It's even considered gross among females, and at the age that I assume you're asking, female bodily functions are still considered to be grosser. I completely disagree, just recalling my middle school experience. And YDI for complaining that your family is open enough to discuss these things.

Actually I prefer the boner,there's just so much you can do with them. Oh that doesn't answer the question,sorry.
