Nice to know

Today, I tried having some girl time with my mom so I could sneakily figure out what to get her for her birthday. All I could think of in the end was a time machine, after her rant about wishing she'd gotten her tubes tied rather than going through the stress of raising me and my sister. FML

It seems like she's not worthy of getting a birthday present from you or your sister.

If you get her a time machine and she goes back to prevent your birth, who will get her the time machine?! Tie your temporal loops before worrying about getting to her tubes! Your homework tonight is to watch the original Terminator.

plot twist: get her grandchildren!

You should do something for her, like clean the house, do the washing and ironing etc. Whatever takes up her day, do it for her. Give her a day to herself, if you can afford it give her a gift that will allow her to enjoy herself while you (and your sibling/s) do those tasks - such as a spa day, pay for a meal out or shopping vouchers.

Get her some lavender scented candles and soaps. Those are supposed to be helpful with stress.

Yea, leave and never come back, best gift you can give her.

Sounds like she needs something where she can relax. Like a spa treatment, or a weekend out of the house. Or like Daddymo suggested, do the chores she would normally do for a couple of days.

Could she have been teasing or just frustrated? Like when kids tell their parents they hate them? I really doubt she actually means it. (I hope) Rotten parents will have complained your whole life and it would not be a surprise to you at this point. She's just stressed. I like the idea to gift her a clean house with dinner made. Then arrange for you and sis a sleepover with friends for the weekend. If your too young (you shouldn't be on here) a foot massage goes a long way. You'll prove her wrong plus the guilt she will feel will be punishment enough.

Ouch, that's just plain wrong to tell your own offspring. Sounds like she's stressed out and lashing out. If after that outburst you still consider getting her something might I suggest a spa day? Maybe it'll help her chill out

Don't get her anything. If she asks why just say your granting her wish of pretending you don't exist

Just get her a day at the spa...maybe she'll appreciate you more
