I feel bad that your self-esteem is so low that you have to ask your own husband to say something nice about you. He shouldn't need to be prompted to compliment you. He should do so on his own, at least every once in a while. Just as you should bolster his self-esteem every now and again. Also, asking a guy to come up with something romantic/kind spontaneously is just asking for trouble...

I knew there'd be loads of comments about "fishing for compliments". Everyone on here seems to get so upset about these kind of fmls! If I'm having a bad day or I'm not feeling too good about myself, I don't see what would be wrong about asking my boyfriend to boost my confidence a bit. People should be able to talk to their partners about their insecurities without being accused of "fishing for compliments".

What? I'm not saying I *need* my boyfriend to boost my confidence, I just like to think that I'd be able to go to him with any insecurities or worries that I might be having and have him make me feel a little better. I don't see what's so wrong with that. It doesn't just go for romantic partners either, I think people should be allowed to confide their insecurities to the people they're close to without people bitching about it.
