Not a geography major

Today, I had to show my daughter where the USA is on a map. She's 17, and we live in the USA. FML

One can only hope she was joking.

You would be surprised at how many kids actually don't know this stuff then.

You should teach her to say "You want fries with that?" might as well save time

Hey now. I work in fast food. My coworkers are mostly people who are very smart but cant make a good decision to save their lives. It takes teamwork, compassion, speed, hard work, and a littlw more general knowledge that you think. Can you rewire a heated cabnet (sp)? I can. btw: I have never said that sentence in my life.

One time two girls in one of my classes admitted that they can't read a non-digital clock. I'm 17 too. it's pretty sad lol

I was raised on Miliary time. 12h is just nonswnse to me. I can read it but I have no ability to judge if it is the afternoon or evenong until I make it 24h.

It's never too late to get involved in your child's education!

WTF. These type of stories are so common on FML. Do these kids not get an education? Do the parents not follow their kids progress? You as a parent should be ashamed for your kids sake and for still taking time to post the FML instead of teaching your child...

But... but... but... posting the FML takes seconds. And Op already taught her daughter. I get you, though: it's easy to miss it, it's not like the FML starts with "Today, I had to show my daughter".

Did it not occur to you at some point in those 17 years that you should make sure she understands where she lives?

Today I'm 17 and my mother was trying to show me the US on the map. She was pointing at China and was insisting it's our country. FML.

the worst part of this is that you didn't know
