Why wouldn't you explain to your son what he was there for?!?! He's old enough to understand a simple concept of a funeral. He has a right to grieve for the loss of his grandma as well.

I'm so sorry for your loss OP. My friend's husband died a few years ago, and their son, who was about 5 at the time kept asking everyone "where's my daddy?" Broke everyone's heart.
