OP, I'm sorry to say this, but it's your fault for lying to your child about the situation. It's dishonest and causes lots of problems when you're not honest with your child about what's happening. By the age of five he should know about death and be learning how to deal with it, not pretending they're sleeping. Nevertheless, I'm sorry for your loss. :/
I'm sorry for your loss. However, most people prepare their children and explain to them what a funeral is about before letting them attend one.
That is sad but it's a 5 year old. You can't be mad at him for that he's a child, you have to explain death to them before you bring them to a funeral. My son wanted to get in his grandmothers casket because it looked like a soft bed.
I suspect he's right.
Thats not embarrassing , thats adorable.
He will understand one day. It's hard at such a young age. So very sorry for your loss
Other than your unfortunate loss, I don't understand why this is an FML. However, this is a sad story, I hope everything looks up for your future.

Kids are so honest... your son is definitely correct when he says that his grandma is more fun when she isn't sleeping. Sorry for your loss OP!
