Notebooks out, plagiarists!

Today, I collected my students' final essays. One of them submitted a printout of a screenshot he took with his phone. Too bad a browser address bar was still in the shot, along with a "click to read more" link at the bottom. My students are too dumb and lazy to even plagiarize properly. FML

Okay, I'm not crazy. I KNOW I've read this exact FML before. Is this a reprint or something? Not that I'm complaining, as its still a great FML.

EDIT: I just remembered that the FML I was thinking about actually was slightly different, where it was all or most of the class instead of one student, and the OP was saying that their students couldn't cheat properly, rather than plagiarize. My bad.

I'm only a high school student but I read a lot of stuff online(just random things.) and a few times I've accidentally plagiarized things I've read. I thought they where my Own thoughts but they turned out to be the author. It's such a pain to read.

Not the same as it was no accident. Worse, especially if the essay was short enough to fit in a single screen shot. If one is too lazy to write a single page....

Every generation. When I taught a college math class many years ago, two students cheated off each other and handed the paper in back to back. This gave me a huge sense of déjà vu when grading. I basically gave them the grade divided by two. If they were too dumb to hand in the papers more separated, they didn't deserve to pass.

Hope you're reading comments.... I have two young kids, and I completely disagree with how teachers are paid. You have to put up with crap like this and way worse all the time, but because of your fml name I will tell you- I hope you find students that make teaching feel worth it, and contact parents of kids like this. If the parents don't give a damn then the poor kids were doomed from the start.

You ALWAYS have that right, it's called freedom of speech :P. If we can use that right to insult religion and other crap like that, we can do this too. Besides, you can't teach intelligence, you either have it, or you don't.
