Really? I'm a teacher too, and when students waste my time (and theirs) with this wonderful gift of education that I'm trying to give them, I can't get frustrated? When they disrupt the entire class and cause their students to lose learning time as well, I can't vent to anonymous people about it afterward? When they get sent to the discipline office for sassing me when we're reviewing for the test and then blame me for failing the test, I can't scoff at them to people who will never know their names? When they can't even be bothered to cheat correctly, I can't put a little schadenfreude-based humor in it? Are you, ObliviousOwl, NOT on here to laugh at the pain of others? Hypocrite.

You can call anyone dumb. At any time. If they are dumb, they are dumb. Call it like you see it. And THIS scenario has nothing to do with the OP's ability to teach students. This is a student being incredibly lazy and not wanting to attempt the work, then being even lazier and just screen shotting an internet website and printing the shot out. Yes, this person was dumb. If it was the janitor who saw the kid do it and called him dumb it would be okay? You have a hate on for teachers, just admit that right now. Pretty clear since you missed the whole point of this post and went straight to blaming the teacher for something that was completely out of their control.

For the few saying this is the teachers fault, as a trainer of software to adults, some people just don't want to learn. You do your best, try your hardest and they still just don't care. I feel your pain and all I can say is. Find a new job, or learn to cherish the victories of the people who wish to learn.

Not only would I have given this student a zero for this assignment, but I think I would have done my best for expulsion. It is sad when students are so lazy that they can't even write a paper. This person is not bad. Just should be shown hard work never killed anyone.
