I'm sure the gymnasts molested by Dr. Larry Nasser wish they had such helicopter parents.
The parents were often present in the office, yet Nassar still managed to do his thing.
to those who are laughing, this is NOT funny. feeling safe with your OB/GYN doctor, is something every female, no matter the age is something to strive for. this is why females will talk to other females about which Dr. they go to. woman are vulnerable when they are in office. heck we just had a Dr in my area get 59 years for doing unnecessary surgeries on female patients. be happy your mom cares about you this much
so if the mother was there and watched how would she know if the procedure they recommend is needed or not? unless she's a doc/nurse I don't see how your fantasy plays out. secondly, what's arguably worse is raising our daughters to fear the people who for the most part have their best interest at heart. yes there's bad docs but they are far far from the norm.
Under no circumstances should you allow your mother to know anything about your Doctor's appointments. You need to set some boundaries, NOW!
