Today, I got this huge package at my college dorm from my parents with candy, chips, canned soup and all these goodies. When I called my mom to thank her, she replied, "We got rid of your cat, Annie". FML

Ya'll are stupid. Cats are NOT allow in dormitories. No animals except a fish. This person does not deserved this.

Because they are op's family and op doesn't really have a choice? Most, if not all, dorms won't let you take animals. Are we supposed to wait until our pets are gone to go to college?

It could be worse. My grandpa got rid of my dog while I was at school, but I was only 7. If the pet meant that much you would get living accommodations to keep it. I've passed up good places to live because I couldn't have my cat and that was at your age. Sorry it happened by its not your pet anymore if it doesn't live with you.
