Does he have a learning disability of some sort, or were you and your partner poor at educating your child?
Sounds to me like a bit of both. What kind of asshole father lets his kid spend 10 minutes looking like an idiot when he has the opportunity to let him know what's going on? Did you just give up on being a dad or what?
Agreed. It seems like after witnessing the initial struggle, the parent gave up. Damn shame.
Does he have special needs, that's hasn't been diagnosed?
Sounds like a typical college kid these days. Carry on....
That's really worrying, though. If you haven't, I would get him checked for learning disabilities. Having bad grades or having your head in the clouds is one thing, misspelling your own name and being unable to remember your own address at 13 is another altogether. He's a bit young for senility... Still, 13 is really young to decide he won't be able to get into college. I was a very mediocre student until high school - at 14 my career counsellor told me I would do well as a flowershop clerk. I'm a lawyer. Don't sell your son short and get him help if he needs it!
**** eh what do school counsellor know any way eh? lol told you will be selling daisies when you are laying down the ******* law bro
Well with a father like you I can’t imagine him having a healthy space to actually be able to grow. Speak life into your children, the vibe you give off isn’t helpful to anyone. You’d really fix yourself to tell your child that their not smart enough for something? Your wife did right. You don’t have any business telling someone what they are and aren’t capable of. Also, if all of that is going on then get him some help so he has a fighting chance! Don’t just write him off. He’s only 13
Get him diagnosed
You must be such a win to have as a father, OP. With half of your genes, no wonder the poor kid is no Einstein.
Do you even like your kid??
