Regardless of the customers reasons for suggesting that OP is stupid, it's not allright to be that blatantly rude about it. Everyone saying it sounds like your own fault, there are nicer more constructive ways to convey dissatisfaction with OP's style of service.

Customers are just assholes. I had one say that two me because of the 10 types of super glue we had, the one he wanted wasn't there. Asked what brand he was looking for and he said "Oh, none in particular."
You might be doing something wrong, see if you can improve your flaws the best way you can. I know you can't be perfect, but at least try.
Hey, this is OP. I work at a pizza place as a delivery driver. The customers at my workplace are less than friendly. I did ask my assistant manager about it. She just laughed and said "I've been working here for 13 years and I still hear that from customers. Don't worry about it, you're doing fine."
