Its okay OP, hopefully you'll get better. You just need to work hard and be confident. I was so so nervous when I first got my job, I was a wreck which almost got me fired. I have been working really hard ever since.

It's kinda rude that they would say that to you. I've worked retail too so I know how customers can get. If they were really that dissatisfied with your work effort they should've brought it to your manager instead of telling you you are stupid. You have feelings just as much as they do.

unless your place of work is one that typically attracts rude crowds, the fact that that is being said to you multiple times probably means there is a bit of truth to it.
