I think it's time your wife and kids, especially your wife, learn a little something called compassion. It's in sickness and in health, not "don't give a shit."
If you also suffered a concussion, it’s not unusual for emotions to run rampant. After a serious tbi from a car accident, I would randomly cry or laugh for no reason. It would just start abruptly and end abruptly. Keep an eye out for this, as it likely indicates neurological damage (before I got the tbi, I qualified for Mensa, now I’m lucky to stay on track with work as I forget stuff so frequently it’s scary) You might eventually need rehab if there is neurological damage, as you may lose fine motor control, and have memory/reasoning issues. Aggression and personality changes are possible too. I underwent both of those issues for a year. Memory issues stuck.
