Scammed

Today, my twit of a husband admitted to falling for an internet scam involving a dead foreign politician, the promise of a share in millions of dollars currently stuck in a bank, and him having wired a large amount of our money to "bribe an official". FML

All that's missing from this story is a Nigerian prince, and this would be a classic.

The guy who made that scam got the idea from a game called "Mafia Wars" on Facebook...

Are you really that naive? The scam was around long before Facebook.

uhhh, then invented a time machine and posted it back in 1996- well before Facebook? as someone who has been on the Internet since 1993 I can tell you that scam has been around almost as long as the net. unlike Facebook which is just a recent blip in Internet history

I could never understand why people bother with these scams - they are so painfully transparent that I would not have believed anyone could ever have fallen for them, even 10 years ago. But now? Your husband lives in a dreamworld.

Who's more foolish: The fool or the fool who follows him?

"twit" doesn't even begin to describe your husband...

No way! I found the same exact scam. They send it through email to like millions of people. FYL for having a dumbass of a husband.
