It's not like all Americans are stupid. But yes there are people ( like in all countries) that don't know where countries on the map are. But don't put all of us in that group.

I feel your pain OP. I'm from South Africa. When I went to the States I was asked if we rode elephants to school in Africa, if we kept lion cubs as pets, if there were white people in Africa (turns out people ACTUALLY ask that question Karen asked in Mean Girls. I have a number of white friends who were asked "If you're from Africa, why are you white?") , and my personal favourites, "how do you say hello in African" and "Do people speak American in Africa?" (because American is a language). Then you get people who think that I'm stupid when I say I'm from South Africa because they think that South Africa is a region of Africa and refuse to believe that it's a country. Oh, and then you get those people who believe that Africa is a country inhabited only by extremely dark skinned, thick lipped, naked or animal skin clad people who dance around fires. People have refused to believe that I'm "really African" because I'm light skinned even though there ARE light skinned 100% African tribes. A friend of mine who went to France was also asked how she got all the way to Europe from Africa. She told the girl that she swam there with the help of her dolphin friends who protected her from all the sharks. The girl was either an exceptional troll or beyond stupid because she actually believed her.

Every country has a ton of pieces of shit. Everyone is complaining how Americans are stereotypical towards Germans stuff, but isn't that a stereotype?

I'm an 18 year old American. A lot of my best friends have been exchange students from Germany, Russia, and all over Asia. I'm very social so I do my best to talk to them and make them feel comfortable while they're here. We talk about their homes. I love to learn as much as I can about them. Not all Americans are fat, ignorant, close-minded douche bags. Don't let what you read on the internet discourage you from coming over here.

Well shit that sucks but I have to deal with rednecks down here in Arizona calling Mexicans job stealers and such . It's just a part of the ignorant ***** that live in the USA. Also it's weird cuz I knew a guy from Denmark and his accent wasn't even close to a German one. People must be stupid up there
