If you wrote down in detail exactly how you love yourself (anatomical landmarks, number of fingers, etc.), your boss ought to give you a rise*, because you sure gave him a rise. *In a lot of English-speaking countries outside of the US, they call a "raise" a "rise."

So... is the FML that your boss found out you were goofing off at work and composing emails to yourself and customizing it like there was no tomorrow? Oh. Okay.

Actually, I think writing a letter about how much you like yourself is something everyone should try.

This is why I don't write emails to myself.

This is a very positive way to deal with frustration in the workplace. Instead of badmouthing other people or being negative or snarky to everyone around you, you did a positive affirmation. I bet you're just as positive when encouraging co-workers. Every boss who knows anything about workforce management and team morale would be tickled to have someone like you as their employee.
