Today, my girlfriend refused to take a picture with me to prove to my friends that I do indeed have a girlfriend. I got so desperate that I photoshopped myself into one of her Facebook photos instead. FML

Today, my girlfriend dumped me for cheating on her. Her "proof" was an image of me making out with a girl. Pretty damning, except she loaded it up in Photoshop, where I saw the image layers she'd used to fake the whole thing. I'm not sure what the hell she was thinking either. FML

Today, I was looking at the page of a girl I've had this big crush on for a long time. After getting a date with her and taking her horse back riding and having a picture taken of the two of us I find that she paint shopped me out of the picture before posting it. FML

Fake it til you make it

Today, I set my relationship status to taken with a fake profile just for kicks. A literal minute later, an acquaintance commented proof that I stole the image from Google. I can't tell if I was busted so quickly because I'm a bad liar, or that people find it impossible to believe that I could get a girlfriend. FML

What you did is creepy, OP. That said, I have two theories on why she didn't want to take a picture with you: 1. The relationship is a lot less close than you think it is. You think you're her g/f and she's all "WTF?" 2. You're a secret in her life for some reason. She has another boyfriend (or maybe a husband!), her parents don't approve of you, her friends don't approve of you, she thinks you're nice but she's embarrassed to be seen with you because you're not a member of the right clique and you're either both still in high school or she never left it mentally. If that's the case, DTMFA, you don't want to go through life as someone's "dirty little secret".
