She's right, you know

Today, I was babysitting some kids and helping them make a poster about insects. They couldn't think of any more insects to add so I suggested a spider, and got told to "not be a dumbass, spiders aren't insects they're arachnids." The girl is six. FML

Well, the child should have been more polite about it. But a lot of highly intelligent children have poor social skills, and their parents/the school system aren't/isn't helping. It's funny, because all the people who claim this must be fake because kids don't talk like that have obviously never encountered a child of above-average intelligence. Plenty of kids speak like that now, especially with all the educational shows on television. When my little brother was six, I came home from school and he said to me "did you know lemurs have prehensile tails?" When I said "no" and asked what prehensile meant he gave me this look and said "It means his tail can hold onto stuff, like tree branches." He learned it that day from a kids' nature show.

spiders are insects, insecta?? anyone?

Eh, she probably picked that word up at school. Kids say stuff. I have to say YDI for not knowing that a spider isn't an insect.

haha you got pwned by a six year old, i didnt know spiders where arachnids until college but damn you suck..

She called you a "dumbass?" Why didn't you kick the shit out of her and rape her crumpled body?

:( thats NOT cool. personally i would've punished her. she was right but, especially in her age, manners > intelligence (don't get me wrong, i admire intelligence, i think highly of those who are intellectual and its an important factor in life but a six year old doesn't need to be using that language. dumbass really isn't a swearword but its impolite and i would react the same way if she had used something like "idiot" or "imbecile").
