Silver linings?

By blutownie13 - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I told my ex-boyfriend I lost 20lbs due to the stress of the break up. His response was, "You're welcome." FML

why would you tell him that in the first place? tryin to put him on a guilt trip maybe? bet you felt stupid when he said your welcome. no guilt involved. maybe it's best you are thankful for losing the weight and go out and find another boyfriend. THEN thank your ex for being the reason you lost the weight and found someone hotter :p

His was entirely the correct response. Guilt-tripping is bratty.

#96- Agreed and I'm practically in the same situation as you. Trying to make an ex feel bad makes you sound desperate. You're better than that. :)

You must've really pissed him off. And I don't get it, "you're" is the proper use when saying one is welcome, what's everyone freaking out about...

wut about hte ppl who end up GAINING 20 lbs when they go through a breakup ??? so really he did u a favour

It's probably better to just move on. Guilt-tripping him like that isn't going to do anything except make things worse, especially considering he doesn't seem to give a damn. He's an asshole. Move on.

I don't think you should have been trying to guilt trip him, BUT at the same time, that was a jerk thing for him to say. Take your nice thin self out there and find a way better guy! :)
