Small talk

Today, I went to a family funeral. Talking to my grandfather, trying to chitchat, he said, "You're gaining weight, aren't you?" FML
I agree, your life sucks 26 131
You deserved it 4 274

That is an incredibly rude thing to say.

some people are just bad at starting conversations. he's your grandfather, cut him some slack. if it bothers you that much, stop eating

I do not see how this is an FML I can randomly say to a friend that she/he is fat & just laugh it off & it wouldn't be a big deal.

if you don't eat all the fast food and start exercising, he will say"you are LOSING weight"

old people say whatever the **** they want....gotta respect that.

Old people and little kids have one thing in common. they both speak the truth.

I don't think your grandfather meant that as an insult. "You're gaining weight, aren't you?" doesn't automatically translate to "You're fat". You're just being self conscious.
