not only is it a law to stay by your car but there are signs everywhere that says "do not leave unattended" I work at a gas station and we get this prob a lot, people come in to use the bathroom or to get something to eat or drink and the nozzle doesn't stop then they expect us to refund them the money, if your goin to be stupid enough to not pay attention then you pay the price.

This happened to me but I had prepaid in cash. I argued with the clerk when she wanted me to pay. We called the cops. the officer told her it was her fault for not presetting it to the amount and I didn't have to pay the difference

i actually own a couple of gas stations. and yes im indian lol (its actually good money 300a day) but pumps are required to have an autostop but eben then it can overflow cause it fails about 75% of the time the mechanism is so small its tricky to make

99% of the time there's nothing wrong with the nozzle, it's how far the nozzle is in the tube or the shape of the tube, i work in a gas station and we took the clips off cause people bitched that it didn't shut off.
